Terms of Service

1. Who we are and acceptance

Barhops is provided by Lunafox, based in England and Wales (“we”, “us”, “Barhops”). Contact us at barhops@lunafox.org. By downloading, accessing or using Barhops, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

2. Eligibility and responsible use

You must be at least the legal drinking age where you use Barhops. You must use the service lawfully and responsibly, follow venue rules and local laws, and not use it while driving or in a way that puts anyone at risk.

Barhops is a planning and social platform. It is not an alcohol seller, venue operator, event organiser, transport provider, emergency service, security provider or medical adviser. We do not organise, supervise or control crawls, events, venues, attendees or alcohol consumption.

3. The service

Features may include bar discovery, ratings and reviews, visits and check-ins, friends, Crawl Groups, shared crawls and events, photos, game modes, AI-assisted suggestions, notifications and premium features. We may change, improve, suspend or withdraw features where reasonably necessary, including for safety, legal, technical or operational reasons.

Venue, route, map and AI information may be incomplete, inaccurate or out of date. Verify opening times, accessibility, prices, availability, routes and local conditions directly with the venue or relevant provider.

4. Crawl Club and in-app purchases

Crawl Club Monthly and Crawl Club Weekly are recurring subscriptions. Barhops may also offer one-off in-app purchases, including Sabotage purchases. Prices, currencies, tax, renewal terms and product availability are shown in the relevant Apple App Store or Google Play Store before purchase.

Purchases are processed by Apple or Google, not directly by Lunafox. Your purchase is also subject to the applicable store terms. Manage, cancel or seek a refund for subscriptions through the store account used to purchase; store refund rules apply. Cancelling stops future renewals but normally does not refund the current paid period. We may change future prices or products with any notice required by the store or law.

We may suspend, remove or revoke an entitlement where a payment is reversed, fraudulent, unauthorised, technically invalid, or where we are required to do so by law. Nothing here affects rights that cannot legally be excluded.

5. Your content, reviews and conduct

You are responsible for content you submit, including profiles, photos, captions, reviews, ratings, event details and messages. You must have the rights and permissions needed to upload it, obtain permission from people recognisably shown where appropriate, and ensure it is accurate and lawful. Do not upload or post illegal, threatening, hateful, harassing, sexually exploitative, defamatory, deceptive, infringing or otherwise harmful content.

You retain ownership of your content. You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, copy, adapt for technical delivery, display, distribute and moderate it as necessary to operate, secure, improve and promote Barhops. This licence ends when content is deleted, subject to lawful retention, backups and content already shared with others.

Reviews must reflect your genuine experience and must not contain false statements presented as fact. We do not guarantee that user content is accurate or endorse it.

6. Reporting and moderation

Barhops provides in-app reporting for user-generated content. We regularly monitor content, take reports seriously and may remove content, restrict visibility, suspend or terminate accounts, preserve evidence, or cooperate with law enforcement where appropriate. If you believe action was taken in error, contact barhops@lunafox.org.

7. Visibility and groups

Profiles, including username, bio and avatar, are public. Reviews and ratings are public. Individual visits are visible only to friends; aggregate or statistical visit information may be displayed publicly without exposing individual visit history. Crawls are visible only to friends and people who have attended the same crawl. Crawl photos are visible only to friends and people on that crawl. Crawl Group members may automatically receive invitations to the group’s crawls, socials and events.

8. Safety and liability

You are responsible for your decisions, alcohol consumption, route choices, personal belongings and the people you meet. Always use your judgment, arrange safe travel and seek emergency help where needed.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, loss of data, third-party content, venue actions, user conduct, event outcomes, alcohol-related harm, or reliance on route, map or AI suggestions. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. Your statutory consumer rights remain unaffected.

9. Indemnity

To the fullest extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and keep indemnified Lunafox, Barhops and our officers, employees, contractors, agents and affiliates against reasonable losses, liabilities, damages, costs and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your unlawful conduct, your breach of these Terms, your user content, or your infringement of another person’s rights.

10. Suspension, termination and changes

We may suspend or end access where you breach these Terms, create risk for others or us, or where required by law. You may stop using Barhops and request account deletion at any time. We may update these Terms; material changes will be notified through the app or website where reasonable. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the updated Terms.

11. Law and contact

These Terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you are a consumer, you may also benefit from mandatory protections in the country where you live. Courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction, subject to any mandatory consumer-law rights. Questions: barhops@lunafox.org.
